K. Shah is son of Mr. K. K. Shah, who has served the country for
many years. In his illustrious career, he was Cabinet Health Minister
and also was a Governer of Tamilnadu. Mr. K. K. Shah, an astute
follower of Mahatma Gandhi, has spent his life for the poor and
down trodden people of the country. Mr. Prakash K. Shah has taken
a lead from his father and wowed to contribute in any possible way
to the country to fulfill his fathers unfulfilled dream under
the roof of K. K. Shah Charitable Trust. K. K. Shah Charitable Trust
is very active in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. The trust is
carrying out numerous activities for development of the villages
in the backward part of the district Sabarkantha. True to Gandhian
philosophy, he is a firm believer that a nation can only progress
if the villages of that nation are self-sufficient and well developed.
He insists that the nations economy should be village oriented
which build a solid base for a nation to make well-designed and
concrete progress. This policy has paid off very well in the Bayad
Tehsil of Sabarkantha district. The trust has built 100 homes in
the year 2001-2002 in Bayad Tehsil under Sardar Patel Awas Yojana.
This has helped the villagers in rehabilitation. The Government
has taken notice of the work carried out by the trust and the administration
department of Gujarat Government has directed to trust to build
similar 200 more homes under Sardar Patel Awas Yojana in the Dhanusara,
Modasa, Malpur tehsil area. The trust has also started distributing
water in four villages through tap and also started supplying water
through tankers in drought affected 34 villages in the district.
The trust is also providing medical facilities to the needy poor
people through mobile medical van. It also assist T. B. Patients
by supplying them food, milk and medicines. The trust also helps
self-employed people by way of providing finance and machineries.
To help farmers to take more harvest, the trust has constructed
five check dams to conserve water resources. |
